We are looking for a Project Management intern to join our Automotive and Foundry team in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society, by joining us, you will be a key player in delivering high quality battery cells to our customers within the Project Management Office by supporting the project team in executing the project and program from start to finish following our core functions.

About the job
Within the Project Management Office, you will support the Customer Project Manager in executing the project and program from start to finish. You will be part of the project core team and be responsible for planning the project, managing its risks and requirements. You will work closely with each project manager and the project team members to identify bottlenecks and find solutions to reach key project milestones. Your main responsibilities include keeping track of the key activities and milestones from project start until start of battery production, as well as understanding how these are interlinked. Managing, tracking and reporting your core processes & deliverables is a no-brainer for you!

Apart from this, you will have the opportunities to deepen your knowledge in requirement management, by working with the team to update and maintain data in our requirement management system.

About the team

You will be part of the Automotive and Foundry team based in Stockholm and Västerås. The total business unit is about 45 rock stars with the task to generate business from our existing and new customers, lead the complete projects from customer requirements to mass production in one of Northvolt’s factories. From customer lead to delivered product – together and in collaboration with many of the fantastic functions within Northvolt. Our goal is to grow Northvolt's business in line with the expectation to scale the company!

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the customer development projects by executing our core processes with multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Create, develop, update, and maintain data in requirement management system
  • Prepare presentation and decision material for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Being part of our continuous improvement culture and develop our core processes further
  • Create and maintain good relationships with relevant key stakeholders and customers, where traveling is often required.

This is a role for you who have excellent organizational skills, good holistic view and a lot of grit. You will be exposed and involved in multiple simultaneous projects and will act as “the spider in the web”.

This role will offer you a good view and understanding of Northvolt as a company, where you will be exposed to multiple internal stakeholders and different departments and contains a lot of freedom and can be developed depending on the personal strengths of the candidate.

This is an output-based hybrid position, you will be based in Västerås but not limited to travel to other sites e.g. Northvolt Ett, Skellefteå to support the team

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Engineering, physics, chemistry, business or related education
  • First experience in project management
  • Have plenty of grit, a can-do attitude, an entrepreneurial spirit, a great eye for quality, a sense of humour and a curious mind
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills in both technical and business environments
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, German, Swedish, Korean)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
