About the job

You will be an integral part of the program office, interacting with internal and external stakeholders to create the foundation for connecting the development and industrialization efforts to commercial and financing initiatives.
In the role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining qualitative and quantitative analysis of ongoing efforts within the program, helping in steering the development to success while getting unique insights and learnings in both technical and commercial settings. You will gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations.
We aim to reinvent how batteries are designed, produced and used around a new technology platform. This is stretching from R&D efforts all the way to end-customer value creation and financing strategies. You are expected to be creative in finding solutions to push yourself and your colleagues across the organization to ensure progress and success of the program. You need to be up to speed on constantly changing circumstances and evaluate proposed solutions from different stakeholders, making non-biased decisions that create the most value.
As an intern within the team you receive support, coaching and mentoring from the team across many different sectors, building up know-how along the complete value chain for battery industries. This includes but is not limited to R&D, legal, financing, business development, etc.
You will primarily interact with, and get support from, senior managers within the program to help guide your work and career at Northvolt.

About the team
You will join a fairly new effort and thus a small but dedicated team which will grow with the progress of this project. This role gives you the opportunity to be part of an exciting new project from the beginning and allows you to grow and take on additional responsibility fast. The dedicated core team includes cell design, process and materials engineering, commercialization strategy and factory development, etc. However, this project requires cross-functional contribution across the entire organization which will be a key aspect of this role. In this position, you will join a passionate team that is driven by creating an even more sustainable product which will make a significant impact for Northvolt and the transition towards a greener future.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Own operational modelling of existing and future production assets
  • Prepare strategic project decisions and material for Northvolt Management and stakeholders
  • Create benchmarking and market assessment for the technology
  • Enable strategic initiatives through providing qualitative and quantitative insights
  • Hands on insights in cell development and manufacturing by supporting prototyping efforts

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Pursuing a technical BSc/MSc degree such as Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Graduation year between 2024-2026
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Strong technical aptitude/ ability to quickly understand technology
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Ability to drive work independently and in a team environment to deliver results
  • Can-do attitude and “not afraid to get hands dirty”
  • Proficient in Excel and the MS Office suite

Bonus points for:

  • Interest in translating technical innovation to commercial advantage
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Korean, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
